IF I HAD POWER TO CHANGE THE WORLD

If I had power to change the world  I would make it a better place for everybody to live and exercise their potential and contribute towards development
Our world, with all its features the planet, galaxy, ocean, the space to name a few is one amazing, beautiful creation that us human are endowed to ever witness and cherish. These creations which support life are a dynamic force that swirls our very existence. Now these amazing creations that supports life in our world needs to be nurtured protected and preserved to make life in the world meaningful, bearable and worthwhile. This is a basic right of every single individual inhabiting in it.

Human civilization coupled with changes in technology, culture and ways of life has resulted in changes in the conditions that support life in the world, changes in the sense of affecting the quality of life and the easy with which us human being can have access to the basic needs for existence. Human activities has resulted in pollution of the environment which has led to diseases, drought, hunger, poverty, and it has above all depleted natural resources which has affected the means and access to activities of earning the daily bread for most people and hence unemployment. Therefore countries in the world are working on trying to improve life of their people, working on trying to develop their countries through the resources which are becoming scarce every day. In a nut shell is that technology and development has resulted in changes in human conditions in trying to make life better and improve life in the world but, not in the way to use it them wisdom in preserving the forces that supports life.

If I have power to change the world today I would first and foremost focus on the human being, because I believe that they are, we are in control of our destiny, that the now and the tomorrow we want is in our hands, it is in what we do now, tomorrow, next week month and year after year that can transform the futile state that our beautiful world has turned into today. The humans are and should be the change agents, the desired world that we want for our children’s children’s can be made today and now by us, change is me, it is us, and we can only do it better.
Now, HOW? One can ask, we can go back to ancient world where culture, wisdom dictated how  humans behaved, interacted, ate, dressed etc., over the years this changed because culture is dynamic, societies evolved over time, and I am not say it is a bad thing, it is in fact inevitable. The coded wisdom in culture protected the natural resources in the world because then human beings could not see the economic value of them, however changes in economy and technology depleted the resources. WHY? Because the human being were not prepared to adopt to and cope with the changes and the development they brought, they didn’t anticipate the effects we are witnessing toady, had they known, they would have used them with wisdom, with a sense of responsibility for the future.

If I have power to change the world, I would work on involving this generation of human present today to work on making quality early childhood education compulsory and accessible to every child in the world. to have universal guideline on how we want to raise the next generation of human being that will be live responsibly, will protect the natural resources, will be committed into working on to improve and value life of every creature in the planet, so the first is education, particularly early childhood education because it is the foundation of human dignity and essence of a being. It can be agreed upon that even the cities where there are high crime rates, or where mass gun killings like in the United states, can be traced to lack of quality early childhood education. We failed to give it the weight it deserved, we didn’t plan for it. Hence forth I would make it compulsory and accessible to every child of age 1 to 8 years in order that we can preserve the coded wisdom and inculcate a sense of morally, socially as well as intellectual responsible generation to sustain our world.

Second and very important is the young people, our youth, this is the energetic workforce, it is the now that can push the development agenda forward, any nation on the course of development cannot afford to sideline the youths. So if I had power to change the world today, I would make conducive environment for youth to take part and to get involved in the development process, for them to take a lead in deciding their destiny and the future of their countries and the world. What should the youth take part into? Politics, economy, and social cultural development of their country and the world.

Last but not least if I have power to change the world, I will engage and promote the concept of social entrepreneurship into solving the societal problem because besides profit, realization of the social mission is at the core of this emerging and very forthcoming concept. It also has an allowance of involving the people into finding sustainable solutions to their problems.

So they way I put it,  if I had power to change the world today I would make it a better place for everyone to live and contribute to development by making early childhood education compulsory and accessible to every child in the world, making sure that youth take part and they are involved in the social, political, and economic development of their country and the world and integrate and promote the application of the concept of social entrepreneurship into finding sustainable solution to social problems affecting the world today. This is how I will change the world, and I believe that it will work because the human inhabiting the world can, should and they are responsible for making the world a better place.
